Ken Griffin P.E. began his tenure with the City of Coppell in December 1991 as the City Engineer. He became the Director of Engineering and Public Works in 1996. As the Director of Engineering and Public Works, Mr. Griffin oversees the design, construction and inspection of public capital improvement projects and inspection services for private development. Mr. Griffin is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas. He is also the Floodplain Administrator for the City of Coppell and a charter member of the Association of Texas Floodplain Managers. He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
 

Other areas of responsibility include: overseeing the Utility Operations Division which is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water distribution and wastewater collection systems; the Streets Division which maintains streets, alleys and sidewalks in the city; the Traffic Control Division which maintains all traffic control devices within the city; the Fleet Services Division which maintains the city fleet of vehicles and equipment; and the Facilities Management Division which is responsible for upkeep, maintenance and improvements to city buildings. Mr. Griffin has 29 years of municipal engineering experience.
 

Shortly after his employment with the City of Coppell, Mr. Griffin organized the City's first employee blood drive and became the city's blood drive coordinator. To date, Mr. Griffin has coordinated over thirty employee blood drives and continues to do so. Mr. Griffin and his wife Jennifer have been married 31 years and have four daughters.
